Clearly there are not enough good guys with guns, thats why bad guys with guns are shooting good guys that don't have guns.
If you disagree with that "logic", you are stupid and ignorant and uneducated.

When it comes to shooting deaths the following are facts: More people die from smoking induced cancer. More people die from car crashes. More people die riding horses, playing football, flying home made aircraft, boating, fishing, bush walking. Doctors in hospitals kill way more people than guns do.
If they didn't have access to guns the crazy people would use knives, clubs, sticks, rocks etc. People need to stop blaming the tool and focus on the individual. The latest offender in the USA shooting had known psych issues so it was probably inevitable that he was going to do something such as happened.Dave

I would love to see your sources for all the other past times mentioned.
I'm sure the victims of shooting rampages and their families take great comfort in all of this.

Bushy, you have been spending too much time on the Gloc forum again haven't you you are sounding like an American.
I think there is a big difference between pulling a trigger from a distance and clubbing someone to death.
I frequent an American welding forum and a lot of those guys come across as complete nutters when the subject of guns comes up. But nothing I say is ever going to change what they do.

The late great Bill Hicks said it best
"England, where no one has guns: 14 deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns - whoo! I'm gettin' a stiffy! 23,000 deaths from handguns. But there's no connection, and you'd be a fool and a communist to make one. There's no connection between having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone..."[SIZE=2]120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'

Here's some facts:
The population of the United States, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, is 311,687,373
Cigarette smoking causes about one of every five deaths in the United States each year.1,6 Cigarette smoking is estimated to cause the following:1
•More than 440,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
•49,400 deaths per year from secondhand smoke exposure
•269,655 deaths annually among men (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
•173,940 deaths annually among women (including deaths from secondhand smoke
In 2010, there were 19,392 firearm-related suicide deaths, and 11,078 firearm-related homicide deaths in the United States.[6]
•The number of inpatient hospital deaths decreased 8%, from 776,000 in 2000 to 715,000 in 2010,
So you're 70 times more likely to die in hospital than you are to be shot and killed in the US.Dave

Most shooting deaths occur at very close, or personal, distances. Very few people are sniped.Dave

Within two weeks of moving to the US I was still on a visitors visa. I had no US identification just my Australian details. My father in-law to prove a point took me to Walmart where I nearly feel backwards to see a row of rifles, shotguns and handguns. Ok.
We gave across my details (Drivers license and passport) and the 18yo (I presume at least 18) handed across my new Remington 870 Express. To further my surprise, we initiated a purchase of a Glock 17. Was told that my purchase had been approved and I could come collect the next day after a 24hour cool off period.
Now, I have absolutely no problems with guns. I own several historical pieces myself (nothing fancy just passed down through the family) but the laws over there... I do have a problem with.

My Father In Law went on holiday to the states, he bought a 45 Magnum, popped it in the post and it was at his place when he arrived home from holidays, that was many years ago!
I like my Handgun, nice and safe and will never hurt anyone, because its an exact replica of a Webley revolver made almost completely from wood, wooden barrel, wood screws, wood springs and it all operates, the wooden bullets don't pack much punch though
