  • Re: Spotted a PP in your travels

Well, this is by far the best location I've ever had a PP spotting..... Out the front of the Birdsville Hotel on Thursday 5th August at about 8pm. It was a dune coloured 120 with Vic Rego starting with 'X'. I think it was running Cooper STT's. A very nicely decked out ride. Be very interested to know who this was. Didn't get a photo because the battery ran out on the camera at Big Red.

    Cheers,
    AJ

        Richo.
That would be me with my wife driving. Heading off to Darwin via Lawn Hill and Katherine Gorge!

Finally arrived in Darwin yesterday afternoon to find another Qld PP (8__-LIR)) parked across the road from our unit at Hidden Valley Tourist Park. Haven't had the opportunity to say hello yet.

Off to put the car in for its 10,000km service this morning.

Of course the MTY stands for mighty - how else would you describe a Prado?

        Graham
        Hi Graham,

I can confirm your sighting of us at Hidden Valley. We were on our way from Darwin back to Brisbane via the Savannah Way, Lawn Hill, etc. I got a photo of your rig which I'll post up (only got back today). It took almost 10,000kms but got 4 PPs in total.

We only got back yesterday too! Sorry we didn't get a chance to say hello but you had gone by the time we got back from getting the car serviced.

We had a couple of nights at at Lawn Hill on the way up - fantastic place.

After Darwin, we gave the vehicle a rest on the Ghan to Adelaide before returning to Brisbane by the Birdsville Track.

In just of 7100km of road travel, we saw heaps of Prados but yours was the only one we noticed with a sticker.

              Well done Stephen,

That has to be the best start ever from zero to 20 points. You have already had the first one confirmed so here is the other three.

The Flinders Red Prado is the Fishnuts

              The White GX is Leachy

And the last 'Prado' is Prado4x4

Yep late start, heading to work through the tunnel as the gateway was a carpark.

What is it about the Albion Hotel, how come all the "spots" are there? Maybe the next Sunday trip should either start or better still finish there (lol).

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

I only saw 1 PP sticker in the whole trip and I didn't have my camera. The sticker was on a dune Prado with a camper trailer that did the rounds of the carpark in Seisia while I was walking through it. Seemed like whoever it was was in a hurry to leave as it took off in a bit of a hurry before I could catch up to say hello. The camper trailer had a rego starting with 'YES'. Not sure who that was.

One of those "Mum has seen enough moments" and "I just want to get on the road" special times when one must obey!
Headed to Charlies, Mine campsite at Coen from Seisia. A fairly rustic/eccentric camp but lots of hot water and clean dunny's.

this was me - and the Prado is Maroon  We lost radio pretty quickly ...
The Cruiser behind was prado4x4 - also has a PP sticker

and the white one near Coen would have been leachy_9 minus his tvan

Seemed to be travelling with someone behind him in a cruiser ute.

Also spotted a white 120 series with ARB bar today heading south from Coen at about 2pm, looked like a PP sticker on rear window, couldnt raise anyone on UHF.

                          Anybody going to own up.
