Australia's best cars 2013 is out? What are your thoughts?

Still a lot of Europeans in the top spot in the various categories. Prado makes and appearance in 3rd, and as expected Hilux nowhere to be seen

I can understand the Landrover, but Jeep, someones on the crack pipe. Surprised the 86 didn't get a look in also.

The problem with these contests is that they do not give enough weight to significant things such as reliability, resale and parts availability in remote places. I test drove a Jeep and settled for the Prado for those reasons - also the Jeep seemed like a big town car designed for snowy/muddy roads in the USA rather than tracks. Nice motor but significant turbo lag.

It's funny how these groups keep saying the disco and Jeeps and whatever else are so good, yet when I drive around the outback I never see them! Have a look at what everyone is driving in the real world. Take the various Landcruisers including the Prado and the Hilux out of the outback and there's not much left.
