  • Moving to Broome

Sad, but true. Bushbasher is moving to Broome. The powers that be have decided that it's time I moved on, been here in Kalgoorlie for 9 years. So watch out all you Broome based PPers and I guess it'll be a good place to spot all the PP sun-chasers from Victoria and Taswegia that migrate there in the winter. What mods will I need to do to the Prado now? Now, where did I pack my fishing gear?

Broome has a lot to offer - in the dry season (haven't been there in the wet) - and it's an easy drive to two of my favourite places. Barn Hill Station is a pleasant place to stop for a while. And the walk north along the beach - at low tide :-) to Eco Beach Resort, for lunch, was a highlight of our time up there. Middle Lagoon, on the way to Cape Leveque, is a magic place to chill out for a week or two. And the Whale Song Cafe is not to be missed!

I've been to Broome and really loved it but only been there in the dry.

Everyone wants to visit. I will organize a sweep and people can bid for a week at a time.

More importantly, what mods can I convince the missus that I need? I think a 6m plate ally cat is stretching the friendship.

Easy, tell her it is a mod to fully explore the local off-road areas. I too have holidayed in Broome and loved it but living there and spending a few weeks are very different things. Love Cape Leveque though.

Road trip! The missus has decided she will be working back for a month or so. It'll just be me and the dog. Yippee.

See you in April Dave. Although Broome is nice, I think I'd prefer to live in Kununurra. Heaps more things to do and see there.

I spent 4years in Broome moved south in 2012, fantastic base for getting around the Kimberley. Gibb river road a nd cape leveque. Cape Leveque would be one of th best camping spots I'v ever been to, only 1.5 hrs nth of broome.

As you know the social Issues won't go away, just remember -red cans are locals, green cans are kununurra / balgo mob and crownies/ bottled beer equals th port hedland / south west mob. All three types being consumed on "male oval" means all he'll is about to break loose (funeral in town).

Looking forward to parking the camper up on the cliffs overlooking James Price Point and enjoying the sunsets over the water.
