  • How Quick is Quick?

This is for the Rev heads amongst you. Basically its a comparison speed test from zero to 300km/hr or thereabouts, 9 cars and one motorbike with them getting faster as you go. It ended in exactly the place I thought it should and put all the previous runs into some perspective

Did you notice the simulated fuel gauge inthe Fueler? Might cut down the touring range in the Prado but it would be one hell of a ride

We don't have time to wait for that slug to get going - would need to be towed by the Bugatti to reach 300 in under half an hour.

I like the speedo on the dragster, it is marked to over 500.

One of my lunatic brothers had a 2nd hand Porsche 930 with a twin turbo racing motor fitted, better than 300 k/h. He was upgrading it to a higher output motor that would put him to around 390 according to the mechanic, but he ran out of money (mum was happy about that, I mean to say, an over 50 year old racing about like a lunatic - on a race track that is)

You're the one with the snake!

The GTS is electronically limited to 255 supposedly though up to 270 has been seen on various cars not including mine which doesn't exceed the speed limit. Ever. Evenso it wouldn't matter if it was tied to an F111 it still couldn't get there.

But there is youtube video of a GTS with stage II kit in the NT running well north of 300 + GST. Given the accuracy of the speedo it is still easily over 300. That's probably litres / 100km too!

I see NSW Highway patrol have a brand new FPV GTF (final) worked over by Herrod with 600kw! That's probably limited to 160.

Yep, a Fueler on a sweet run will hit 500 in around 4.5 - 5 seconds, so it would be hitting 500 when most of the others are passing the 100k mark. 0-300 in 1.57 seconds is almost impossible to imagine, even makes the F1 car look pedestrian!

                      Cheers Andrew

And they only run the engine for about 1.5 seconds and shut the fuel off. The engines don't get hot enough to warrant cooling systems and they often replace the pistons between runs.

also when ruining methanol is is so cold that it freezes ,that is why u see them spraying the butterfly on the intake to they don't freeze up ,and it also keep the motor cool for a short time of running them
