Southern Cross Canvass in Bayswater (VIC)
    http://www.southerncrosscanvas.com.au/
    (03) 9729 5056

Their products are excellent. Very good quality canvass, good stitching, custom made to order and excellent.

Have purchased many tents from them through my Scouting life of 17 years so can highly recommend them.

I have a swag that must be the earlier version of what Yetiboy01 showed.
My swag has mesh over the front and back with canvas on the ends. Also have the full canvas cover that can sit over the top for protection.
I have camped next to mangroves and barely seen a sandfly sneak in too.
07 Prado GXL, D4D manual, silver and a fridge with constantly changing beer levels.

The thing with swags are that they last forever, which is probably why not everyone needed one.
Sure it will do well and help keep you in the great outdoors.

I shall do a write up, once it arrives and I get a weekend to test it out fully. Certainly pricey, but it looks fantastic and everyone I have spoken too, raves about them.

                        Cheers :P ,

                              Re: A Good Aussie Swag

I would like to revitalise this thread. I'm looking for a Swag to put me up for the Simpson crossing & GTG. I was looking at several different options, but want a swag to bring back home as a souvenir for other overland traveling that I do.

Please let me know your thoughts and keep in mind I will be living in this thing for about 20 days.

                              Thanks,

                              -Ben

                              1) My favorite and front runner is the Mr. Swagman Deluxe, It's a nice Swag W/ a nice 70 mm sleeping pad, looks well built & has a nice rain fly.

but the $550 (OZ) is about $350 (US)....OUCH!!

                              2) OZ Trail, Mitchel. It looks well built and has a lot of the features of the Mr. Swagman Deluxe, but is a more reasonable $250

                              3) Onland Country (AKA 3-pole), It's a nice looking traditional Swag. and reasonably priced @ $270.

                              4) I also like the look and functionality of the Burke & Willis Coolabah $400 (~$370 eBay), but not as excited. looking for a little input.
