  • Re: The funny things we see

This climed up the outside of the windscreen the other day on the way home from a shopping expedition.

This little guy actually lives in one of the bushes next to our house, we see him around every now and then. He had obviously got into the engine bay the previous day while the car was parked up the back. He stayed onboard till we got home and with the help of a long straightened coat hanger, we were able to return him to his tree.

When we got home we took the Prado round the back where we think the snake got onboard, our 4 y.o. got out first. With the help of a straightened out coat hanger we plucked him/her off and put it back in the trees. Perhaps if the snake had been brown in colour we would still be sitting in the Prado.

Our place backs onto fairly dense national park, so it is not uncommon for snakes (once or twice a year) of varying colours to make their way across our back yard.

Saw these on a Nissan recently - appropriately in blue.
Thought for a Prado they'd be great in chrome. Or black.
Though at 164 mm you'd need to lift the truck to stop 'em dragging!

A driver was allegedly punched and kicked through the window of his ute and then hit in the mouth with a hammer in a violent road rage incident in Sydney's west on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old man was driving the white Ford Falcon ute north on Roper Road, Colyton, about midday when a Toyota Prado allegedly veered in front of him and cut him off, police said.

The drivers of both cars got into an argument while still driving on Roper Road, before the Prado allegedly forced the ute on to the kerb at a roundabout near Carlisle Avenue, police said.

"Police have been told the 30-year-old driver of the Prado and his 26-year-old male passenger exited their vehicle and approached the Ford Ute," police said.

"The two men then allegedly punched and kicked the 38-year-old driver of the ute through the vehicle's open window, before hitting him in the mouth with a hammer."

The ute driver had a large cut to his lower lip and gum, and had his lower teeth pushed into his gum, police said. He was treated at Mt Druitt Hospital but has been released.

The two men from the Prado gave statements to St Marys police a short time after the incident, but were arrested yesterday.

They were each charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm in company and refused bail.

Both face Penrith Local Court today.

Anyone who witnessed the incident can contact St Mary's Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
