No. This area is not known for it's 4wd tracks altough there are a few tracks label as 4wd only, but that is a bit of a laugh.

Certainly getting my posts up heading towards 50.
I think it looks like you are standing on McIntyre rocks or Carpenter rocks in Canunda National Park

No, neither of these. I actually looked this up on Google Maps and it isn't named there.

A few more clues then. This is in South Australia. As I previously mentioned this peninsula is not known for it's 4wd tracks although there are a few which are titled as 4wd tracks only. It's on the western side of the peninsula and this track has three named access points down to the beach. This is the southern most access point.

Would be a nice spot for finishing.

If no one has it by the end of the day I'll probably name it and through it open for someone else to post.

Opps, I meant to type fishing.

I'll give it another couple of hours then spill the beans.

Well it looks like none of you could work it out.

This area of the beach is called "Tiparra Rocks"

              http://maps.google.com.au/?ie=UTF8&l...c:wikipedia_en

It is located on the Yorke Penninsula in SA just north of Balgowan so it's in "Oldsalt" territory. There is a track clearly marked as 4wd only that drops in at three major points, Tiparra Rocks, The Bamboos and The Gap. There where a few people around at the first two locations and heaps of camping action happening at The Gap.

You have to search really really hard to find anything on this area on Google unless you have a few clues.

The following isn't a bad bit of info on the area:
              http://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms?ie...,0.243416&z=12

Flip a coin and someone else have a go.

Neither is correct. I now totally understand why you mentioned Walpole Violet. The view is very similar from the Rest Point Caravan Park looking back towards Wapole. Been there many a time.

Tassie is the right state though.

Next choice would be either Bakers beach area or up near Musselroe Bay.
Just can't work out those hills...which is about all I can go on.

                        Any hints on direction??

Cockle Creek it is. The most southerly point in Tasmania/Australia you can drive south. Had our first visit just prior to Christmas last year. A truely spectacular place. Some awesome camping places nearby.

                              Over to you FBP.

The Whaling gave it away... spent many fun trips down there when I was a teenager. Beautiful spot.
I think I took over that one a bit so I'll give you a chance to win it back by posting another Tas pic.

Nice place to camp as long as there's not much wind. Dog friendly. Loads of camping spots but don't go at Christmas if you can help it...
