OK - I admit to being unfair and a bit of a bastard. I'm not in my normal mind at the moment (too busy holidaying). Sorry.
This shelter has only been built for a couple of weeks. I believe it was officially open only a couple of days ago. It's at Somerset beach. Just east of Cape York (at the very tip). This place also has a brand new set of toilets. Would be a great spot to camp - if there was room. There was no one there when we visited but in the middle of the dry it could be packed.
A bit hard to recognise if no one has been there in the last few weeks.
I will take a stab, is it Edmund Kenedy National park?
No... I don't even know where that is...
If it helps, I am standing almost on a beach to take the photograph.
Edmund Kennedy NP is about 5 minutes north of Cardwell and has a shelter about that close to the beach too. It overlooks Ramsey Bay and is quite scenic. The drive in is about 10 minutes off the highway, and few people actually go there.
