Ahh, that is the famous dalek tree. It is near the thingamajig campgrounds.
You're actually not that far off being correct...oddly. It is a "someone" tree. and some of the letters in thingamajig are eerily close to the actual name of the campgrounds.
Tallaganda State Forrest? I'd completely forgotten the ACT shared its entire border with NSW...
Yeah! That's it - great camping spot in the trees with an old water wheel that works. The wheel was originally used to generate electricity. It's not far from Canberra.
OK, this is a remote WA community. Note the hill in the background, from the air its shaped like a lizard... Clue, its on the western side of the Stuart Highway..
Think ENE - I'll add in another photo when I get home to make it more obvious. I'm surprised none of the PP's near the spot haven't worked it out - it's not far from a capital city (it was our first night out after picking up a hire Tvan in the late afternoon).
