That looks like piles of Iron Ore in the picture, a river behind that and it looks like it might be the ocean in the very background, so I am guessing one of the coastal Iron Ore Ports. Your picture also say 2006, so a lot might have changed since that was taken.
Lets have a stab at Port Headland.

I'll have a crack at Karratha on the basis that I have been to both and didn't notice any hills around Port Headline but yes to Karratha - I flew in btw.Terry

I reckon you boys are way off. Looks definitely like somewhere down south, possibly south west. Capel sands or close to. The terrain looks like Darling Range or wheat-belt area.Dave
