Woomera caravan park it is. Not a lot of facilities when we were there (2004), a bit of green grass to set our tents up on and portable showers. There were large blocks of old buildings that use to be used to house workers in days gone by, some had been updated to accomodate current day visitors I think.
Its quite amazing what was out there once, now most of it has been pulled down or left to rot. Apparently it rivalled a lot of what the yanks were doing at the time. The museum in town is interesting if your interested in that sort of thing, but my kids found it boring so it was only a short visit.
Yes it is a golf course constructed originally for the Moline Mine workers and now each August they have the "Moline Golf classic".
It is on the road into Kakadu from Pine Creek end.
