Muzza's finally got it. The shopping precinct at Marble Bar, from memory only open a couple of days a week and meat available only when a shipment arrives. Maybe thats why it has bars on the window?
Attached is a pic of another famous bar in the same town the Ironclad and one of the rock that the town is named after.
The Ironclad (complete with Prado with smashed rear window)

And "the" Marble Bar

Thanks for that one Rainman. Sadly a common sight in many a town, that is why guesses were all over the place. A fortress like shop is a sad reality almost anywhere you can guess in Oz these days. Mad Thursday is a good day to be camped out bush and not in town if you want a good night's sleep.
Now one for the well travelled travellers....

Territory... interestingly, perhaps, but I've had a bit to do with footy in remote communities over the years. The community carnivals are something to see. The natural skills of the players is just amazing. They play hard and fast on these ovals generally with no shoes on. The mark is still a feature of their game and they all attempt to take the amazing screamer with no fear of hitting the dirt when they fall. The ovals are often littered with rubbish (blown in) and have camp dogs sleeping on the boundary lines while games are in play. For cultural reasons, it is also not uncommon the the last quarters in these finals to go just long enough for the home side to win!Originally posted by RainmanClose, right state or is that territory?Originally posted by ntpryceLooks like a community oval in the NT... ntpryce is getting closer.
Unfortunately we were just passing through so no footy matches on that day. However, by the end of the day my football hating daughter would probably rather have watched a game of footy than take the track that started near this ground.
I think it was only a few hundred kilometres, but it took all day and we were knackered by the end. All I have to do is threaten my kids with name of the track and and it sends a shiver down their spines and they behave themselves for the rest of the day - almost.
