This would be why there's so many problems with roundabouts, though you're from SA, so i wouldn't expect you to know Qld road rules. The lanes don't necessarily have to be marked. The rules refer to both lanes and lines of traffic. In this instance, there were two lanes leading into a roundabout with room for two lines of traffic. The rules state that a driver changing lanes or lines in a roundabout must indicate and give way to vehicles in others lanes or lines of traffic. Exceptions are given for vehicles that are too large to remain in their lane/line.

We have the same rules down here , I didn't say he was totally correct in the way he did it but that Mercedes van is clearly too big to stay in his lane and was only yanking your chain anyway.
