Apparently Microsoft claim 10 is the final incarnation of Windows they are making, so buggered if I know what they are going to call the next one - Doors perhaps?

    Dad Joke....

And it also stops my touchpad from working every time I close the lid. I have gone to settings and ticked enable and apply but it doesn't save the setting.

8.1 did that to me. I have a tablet and laptop in one but can only use the laptop function. The tablet was great for games and watching movies. Can't find where to reinstall the driver.

The manufacturers website would still have it. Another option is Driver Pack Solutions. Just make sure to uncheck everything it finds except for the touchscreen driver.

Windows has just told me that it has found a new driver for my touchpad. Lovely.

Its likely to be called Bars. Their market slogan will be "we raise the bar", the customers view will be "we just got smacked around by the latest one.....

The Techies view will be " oh another update, lets spend 22 hours loading this shite and fixing the mess so we can head there......

Honestly I'm loving W10. The biggest issue I've had so far is during a big update the power went out and killed my boot hdd! Obviously not a Windows error. Swapped it out and did a fresh install but this drive is borked and i can't seem to recover it at all.

Doesn't show up in explorer but appears in disk management with no file system and can't be formatted. I've tried formatting it and repairing the drive Parted Magic but it always comes up with a SMART error so I think the drive is basically kaput. Unless someone has ideas?

Try a FDISK command from DOS rather than a format command.

Good point... I remember my last pc allowed me to reformat from the bios as well. This one doesn't.

Went to check my emails today and no email account. Windows 10 decided that it would be best for me to delete the account and re-configure it. Well, Windows 10, you can go and get f*$ed. I just found the "go back to Windows 7" button. It also hid my Office program and offered me the ability to "purchase office". Guess what, Windows 10 you can go and get f*%$ed. And I'll get back all my other programs that you screwed with, like Tech stream, and I'll also get an explorer system that I can navigate with. And by the way, the photos are mine, not yours to play with. And you can stick your "get apps" up your a%$e.

Why does everything have to be so complicated and gimmick orientated? They're taking over our lives and making choices for us.
