  • Bit ticked off I am unable to start a new thread!

Anyway reason for the new thread is in regards to remote posting, I am posting this from surveyor generals corner. Given they have only has service here for a few days I would have been the first person ever to post on the net from here, but Trish beat me which also ticks me off.

Or do find the right thread but don't actually bother reading it before asking questions - especially when that question has been asked and answered before in that thread.

      • 1. The pitiful impact resistance of the ARB Fogs. 2. Replacements only available in pairs. 3. Installation sucks due to non-captive spring. 4. Finding ARB original install included sucky temperamental wiring that I had to re-do from scratch. 5. Installing the replacement disabled the indicator light because I must have touched the indicator wiring which is clearly up to the same standard.

        • Got home this arvo from work. Walked past the Prado in the garage and noticed bloody blackjack grease splattered all over the drivers side of the car. It looks like some contractor has dropped a canister of heavy duty grease onto the road, out of his work ute onto the road and wifey has run it over !

An hour or so of elbow grease (excuse the pun), three quality polishing cloths buggered completely and half a bottle of window cleaner and it's all sorted out.........

          • Matt that wax and grease remover I got from Repco would have been ideal for your issue, only thing would have needed a polish and a rewax once the crap was removed........Cheers Steve

I installed a GX , ARB non winch bar to a '05 gxl, modified the wings to blend the flares, fitted arb '10 spots to the inserts, with the use of a grinder and tie wire,
and fitted blinkers off. a ford festiva, with ease.. the arb spots are sold as individuals of the shelf. $50 ea. was at time of fitting..( see rig build up ) and have a winch insert fabricated , waiting installation ....

simple.. for 50 bucks it i hit something you gotta pay for it, cheers and do your own wiring. butane

Order one from "govia.com.au" the mob used in Qld, it doesn't matter where you get it as they are all national now. Just a thought.

                          • Yeah same around here to Matt, I just said to my wife this morning what a stupid law they bought in abut p platers restricted from turbo's and V8. Saw a p plater in his nice new VE series 2 SV6 which has 210kw standard lighting it up then taking off (was definitely his with black stripes and massive wheels). Said to wife wouldn't have able to do that in one of these 1.2L turbo'd buzz box's. Should have been a power to weight ratio like the bikes not just restrict turbo. I can understand wrx's and things but a lot of these new European buzz box's dont have the grunt of even most basic V6 commodore's or your falcons, they will eat the buzz boxes......Cheers Steve

                              • I am a P plater and this is one of those laws were I am 2 ways on. I drive a truck with a big slashing tractor on it for work and the amount that i almost hit a p plater or get collected by one or one decides to screem up the inside of me is ridiculous.

Saying that. It is hard to not drive these restricted cars. most company cars are SIDI sv6's at the moment, or little VW TSI (turbo) and then if you live were i grew up they are 200 series or V8 cruiser utes.
so that restricts being able to drive a company car.

There is a law regarding the power output of "high powered vehicles" it started off at 200KW, then with the arrival of the SIDI v6 in the commodore was bumped up to 210KW.
there are exceptions for the rule of turbos such as the "Suzuki Cappuccino 700cc turbo 3 cly" and the "smart car".

This is coming from someone who averages 1600km from 2 tanks my v6 Prado. Not the most lead footed.
