  • Ranj, send it to Darwin that is in better condition than some of the cars a certain group of people up here drive in. You would probably get five to ten grand. If you sell it on the right day.

    SOL.

Unfortunately, the VT Berlina LS1 doesn't cost a lot of money.

Instant write off for sure, lots of damage, repair bill was above the magical 70% mark. Vehicle was repaired.
Heres hoping... honestly, I would love to get this car fixed.

      • I hope Ranj they are a good panel shop and are going to blow it in and not just stop at the rear door when spraying it ??? or the colour difference will stand out like (excuse the expression) dogs balls.... That's one thing I hate about silver (and other colours) is colour matching if an accident occurs. They repaired my wifes old car, it was insured for 15k and had 13k worth of damage. I got rid of it instantly we got it back as it was a hard hit. I have no idea what a VT series 2 in a 5.7L would be worth rough guess around 6k ?? (hope I didn't insult you) again Im only guessing but there would be 2 to 3 grands worth of damage, rear 1/4, boot lid, bar, light, R & R everything plus has it moved towards the rear door as well ?? + possible beaver panel damage as well ?? .....Cheers Steve

        • Don't know if it's moved towards the rear door or not. TBH I never checked! Boot lid itself will be ok but will require being blown in as you pointed out. VTII 5.7L in a Berlina is about 4.5-5K... it's an old car mate, she ain't worth much but she's my "ol girl" so to speak. I'm kind of in 2 minds about it at this point. Half of me is saying that I hope they fix it and make her shiny again.... the other half is saying "I hope they scrap her so I can get something a little more economical."

I had a 90 model Celica some years ago that T-boned a Falcon ute on the way to work one morning (Falcon's fault). $7.5K damage to the front of the car (smashed the popup headlights, radiator, a/c, and crumpled the chassis rails at the front). It was worth around $14K at the time and they fixed it, did a good job too. I know how RanJ feels though, they are never quite the same after that.

            • Not me personally but this would tick you off big time. End of the road for some travellers from SA. Bus caught fire at Bullabulling (just to the west of Coolgardie). Fortunately they had another set of wheels in the trailer. I don't know what caused the fire but it does highlight the need for proper fuzing of all electrical components, proper ventilation and servicing of gas appliances and NO SMOKING IN BED.

Constant Sub whoofer noise... No issues with the highs, only the lows... Next door neighbours parents have been away so son will play! 6am in the morning to 1 to 3am the following morning 7 days a week for the last 3 weeks...

It's not loud, just a constant quite thump thump noise... I thought that 6 nights ago we were being invaded, nope he was playing COD ghosts, all I could hear was the bass from the gun fire... Driving me nuts.

Dad arrived home today, so it has stopped finally but I did make comment about it to my daughter loud enough for son to hear 2 nights ago and it did stop, will be interesting to see if it has any bearing on neighbour relations, nice family just I can do with out the Chinese water dripping torture... Rant over.

I hear ya and hope it ends well. Nice neighbours are good to have. Probably didn't even realise the effects.

When I was in London we lived in a flat in a converted Victorian Terrace, above a horrid man who played music all weekend. Friday > Sunday (mostly Madonna). Our compaints ended up with a rude word, and him installing a tap in his unit on our water supply. It was turned off as 'punishment' every time we complained.

A call to the cops to investigate the tall green plants growing in his greenhouse ended that feud.

                    • Sitting at home all day yesterday waiting for a Toll Fast delivery based on their tracking info and ETA just to have it not show. Tried chasing it up from work but couldn't get through. Came home from work to find a Toll card under the door with "...got here too fast" on it, timestamped exactly the time I finished work. Have now been sitting on hold for 16 minutes trying to sort out re-delivery.

Can you tell I'm annoyed? Toll Fast ain't too blooming fast IMHO. Was looking froward to installing my awning dag nangit!

It's a Roo Systems awning, got the 2m x 2.5m size. They may be able to deliver it tomorrow, the young lady I spoke to was going to try. I just got really annoyed at the "got here too fast" in big bold letters on the card when the parcel was dispatched yesterday from a depot not more than 30 mins from here.

                          • After picking up my girls from the hairdresser, and this lovely two wheeled crotch rockedt decides to cut me off and slam on his breaks for a quick left.

Luckily I was already breaking for a speed limit change. Don't think he understands that he would have come off second best. After all there is Pilbara Steel on the front - branded as a TJM Bullbar. Aside from the paperwork, and explaining it to the offspring - I ALMOST really thought about giving the back of his head a TJM stamp....

                            • Hubby forgot to fold the mirrors in at the local supermarket car park and someone has hit the passenger side one. luckily hubby noticed the glass dangling by a wire when he pulled out of the car park andwas able to pull over and pop the glass back into the clips. It's seems to be working fine but there is a nice black scuff mark on the shroud now, haven't tried to polish it out yet.

I wish the mirrors would fold in automatically when you locked the car!
