In WA there are over 60,000 suspended drivers and many, many more that have never had a licence with many of these driving unregistered vehicles. All just waiting to crash into you or your family and cause innocent people a lot of grief. They just don't care - about red lights, infringements, and you.

He said Mercedes had dropped in price and cost far less than the previous cars provided to him, a V8 Holden Caprice, and chief executive who had a V8 Toyota Prado.

I had a bloke come out to my place to replace the broken gas strut this morning. While he was there i got him to take a look at the struts under the bonnet of my car. I'd noticed they'd recently become fairly lethargic and i wanted his opinion on getting them re-gassed. He takes a look at the struts and tells me that they're not the original Toyota struts. Strange, i think to myself.

I tell him I've owned the car since new and nobody has ever mentioned changing the struts. He asks me when i last had the car serviced. About a month ago as a matter of fact. "And when did you first notice the struts weren't working like they used to?" he asks. "Well it would have been shortly after that because i was putting in an auto transmission cooler." He tells me, "I think you'll find that some mechanic has taken your good struts out and put these worn struts in." "Why would they do that?" I ask. "I reckon someone in the workshop needed some new struts. It wouldn't be the first time a mechanic has taken working parts from a car and replaced them with worn parts from their car. It's also not uncommon for the mechanic to tell you a part is worn and needs replacing. They'll put a new part in your car and take the old part for themselves because there's actually nothing wrong with it."

Ordinarily i'd be shocked and sceptical, but i've discovered these mechanics have done a number of dishonest things. Most recently, at the last service they told me my air filter needed replacing. I thought it had only just been done so i told them i'd do it myself. I checked the service log and saw that the air filter was supposed to be changed at the previous service, but they hadn't signed the service book or torn the docket out. There was nothing wrong with the filter. That same service they were supposed to change the diff oil. I went to install breathers a few days ago and checked the oil. It was black. I checked the receipt and saw i hadn't been charged for any oil or washers, but when i ask for a log book service i expect a log book service. What the hell is wrong with these people?!?

What tucks me off is how some people are so anti-rascist that they become rascist towards others. Earlier today I got into a quite heated argument with two guys regarding a spot I had just parked in. The guys were eastern Asian... Indian, pakistani, Sri Lankan or something similar. No clue... Really don't care.

The argument was quite vocal and one of them even gave me a bit of a nudge after he threatened to hit me and I promised it would be the last thing he did.

Once it became evident that the argument was going nowhere, I tried to cull the situation down by pointing out it was going nowhere, neither of us are backing down and that we both have our cars parked now so lets just move on and besides, three grown men arguing like we are us probably scaring the hell out of the woman in the car next to us trying to get her daughter.

All three of us agreed that we are just going to hate each other till the end of our days. But then! The woman in the car turns to the two guys and tells them not to buy into my rascist crap, we aren't all like that and that the majority of Australians like having other nationalities here. She then turns to me and proceeds to go ballistic about how I should be ashamed of myself for picking on these two guys and being a bully is not the Australian way.

I'm standing there with my jaw on the ground and when I glance across to the two guys they're are staring at her with a puzzled look until one of them speaks up and says that they have no idea what she is talking about as no one even mentioned anything about race.

The "gentlemen" and I parted ways both mumbling something along the lines of don't ever cross my path again but I could see that they were still just as confused as I was.

I used to get that a lot back in the day when we first moved to the UK.
White man born in Africa - must mean I was a white supremacist right? Many English whites instantly assumed I was a racist. Even had a woman rant at us in the street when she heard our accents. Me, the kid born in a free country, who went to school with 51 different nationalities, had a lawyer father who did work for the ANC in South Africa and was arrested at Anti-Apartheid demos in the 60's, and a grandmother recognised for her work as a nurse by the President.

Not racist but prejudiced.

I think I've said it before - people who drive slower than the speed limit in a single lane road and then, for no apparent reason but pig-headed stubbornness, accelerate to full speed during an overtaking lane extension to retain their 'front spot' only to reduce speed 20kph below the speed limit when the road returns to a single lane. Ignoramus.

On this occasion, I'm saddened to say the culprit driver was driving a 120 series silver Prado (ACT rego). At least it wasn't displaying a pradopoint sticker.

You're well into your nineties, you have cancer in your lungs, stomach and thyroid - all inoperable because of your age. You can't eat solid food and the puree they give you goes straight in one end and out the other. You can't walk so have to rely on others to take you to the toilet and help you shower. You can't sleep lying down because all the goo in your guts and lungs makes you choke so you spend all day and night sitting in a chair which results in sores on your back-side and your feet swell up. You can't really talk as your voice has dried up. The nurses are great but every-time you fall asleep they wake you in order to take your temperature and pulse and force panadol into you to "make you comfortable". You don't know what day of the week it is and really don't comprehend what plan the doctor has for your future. You simply want it all to end, now, peacefully. You've led a long and productive life, raised 3 good kids and have grand-children. But no, the doctors want to ensure you have quality of life so they prolong the agony. Your family love you to bits but are completely powerless to help you move on.

Dave, been there and done that very recently. Tough times and very sad. I was on the fence previously about euthanasia but now I am 100% in favour where there is no hope of any improvement. For our pets and animals it is all about quality of life yet with our loved ones the law makes the focus length of life. Quality is more important in my view. I feel your pain.
