I mean.. talk about stupid..... It must be another V8 interceptor that dragged off the police car on the highway! I wouldn't do a thing like that!, anyhow, I never drive it remember? Yeah well my number plates did get stolen the other week.... but the thief must have felt guilty as two days later... they were returned! Ha! Talk about lucky..... Hmmmmm? Oh yes!.... That human hand stuck up under the wheel arch is actually a clever fake..........

Specialised analysis software that uses highly specific command line interface and comes with no instructions

Then running the analysis (which takes my computer 2 days to get through) to find out it didn't work properly because you hadn't set it up correctly because there were no instructions to tell you how....

It is a very picturesque place, we first stayed there in 1988 and at the time we were the only ones in the caravan park. This time we are just going to hire a car and rent a house there then motel it at the other places we are heading to on the south island.

                  • Re: Things that tick you off!

Driving back to Kal from Perth today and come up behind 5 vehicles heading east and doing about 90km/hr on Gt Eastern Hwy near Southern Cross. The front four vehicles were all 4x4s and each was towing a trailer. The fourth was actually towing another vehicle which was wrapped in plastic, I think it was some kind of big 3 wheeler motor bike (trike) as the rest had bikes on their trailers. The 5th vehicle was a small sedan.

Now what pissed me off is that the four 4x4s were obviously travelling in convoy but they were right up each others clackers so there was no gaps between them for other vehicles to pass and pull into. I got on the cb and suggested they should open up the distance bewteen them so people could pass safely only to get the "have a nice day mate" (read "up yours").

I was towing my camper and managed to wind up the t/dsl and pass all 5 vehicles and trailers. Bloody disco drivers!

First time we stayed in Tekapo we were in a Maui camper and it was cold, that was in 1988. This time we will either be in a motel or a house and it will still be summer, still cool in the evening but nice during the day.

Bushbasher your story doesn't surprise me sadly. Some people are very courteous on the road, many truckies included, helping you get past and moving to the side so you can see. However, another truckie nearly killed me by clearly gunning it I was passing in my old lux. Saw him grinning at me and all. Was going down hill at the time so it got very dicey. Others just tailgate like the bejeezuz or get peeved after you pass by flashing their lights. God knows why. Some people plainly think they are above you in some strange fanciful world they seem to live in.

The flashing of lights from the trucks as you pass is generally a signal that you have made enough ground and it is safe to pull back into the lane.
If you have uhf then a quick call up on channel 40 to the truck can usually help too. There are a few cowboys still out there but the industry is getting better all the time.

All the cowboys must drive on the Western Ring Road in MEL. I can assure you they're not flashing their lights to be courteous and they believe only trucks should be on the Ring Road as they drive three trucks abreast. I don't understand why they drive like maniacs when they have the company names and phone numbers on the side of their trucks. I quite often call their company whilst I am being tailgated by one of their drivers.

They have to not let anyone in between as they may miss the vehicle in front of them turning down a side street its a very busy section of road with heaps of trafic lights round abouts side streets etc , and they can not chance in becoming getting lost .
