Strewth, the plane was really heavy on our side and I would have thought it would have been better to even it out a bit more! Copped a flogging from all of our other mates on the plane seeing us two squished up together. It would have to me the most sqashed I have ever been in a plane. At least the flight to Sydney was empty and I had a whole row to myself.

Glad to be home again though

Mate I know how you feel. It's not the same but similar. Our car had a slow leak in one of the back tyres. Took it to the tyre place and had it checked out. Well, between the two rear tyres Lacey had managed to pick-up a grand total of 6 puncture repairs at once. Not bad seeing as I had the last puncture on the back tyre fixed 4 days earlier.

Well BF, at least you are home for Christmas mate. Thanks again for all the assistance you and Lacey gave us last month with Hunter we really appreciated it. Hope you all have a safe and merry Christmas and a great New Year.

    Cheers

What has ticked me off recently was the roller door failing to go down when the button on the control box is pressed so we have had it in override mode. My wife said to me she needed to go to the shops and asked me to open the roller door which I did but there is a spot at the top which bangs (always has) when it opens and it sounds like it fully open. She then, instead of genetly reversing, must have planted her foot and the rear roof rack (Rhino Aero bar mounted direct to the roof) has now been smash off and the roller door looked like it had really lost the contest with the ugly stick. I was really tick off at myself over this,

It did give me a chance to have fun with panel beating and in truth the end result dosn't look too bad and when I went into Roof Rack City on Christmas Eve the parts I needed to repair the rack only cost $24 so I guess it wasn't too bad in the end.

Toyota service departments that say they'll have your car done by 1 so you make plans to get a lift back out and 1 becomes 2, which becomes 3, which as of a few mins ago is now 4.....

Another major power black-out was experienced across the Greater Darwin area today. Some areas are still suffering loss of power - which occurred around 6am this morning.

No doubt many businesses will have suffered major losses today.

Hard to believe we live in the 21st Century when the Government Corporation doesn't even have adequate redundancy capabilities to maintain power during normal circumstances. God help us when the system is tested by a major cyclone or similar severe event.

Yup. I do get annoyed by some of the ads but you can't go past: Overhaulin (we need that in Aus), Chop Shop, Off the Road (pretty crap but it's better than no 4wding), Top Gear and anything else with Clarkson, Hammond or May in it, and for people like me: Mythbusters & Time Warp (that's the job I want).

and just so I bring the thread back on topic...what ticks me off are people who are stressed and need to relieve it so they pick me without the slightest provocation (mother-in-law) * he says as he finds the .22

Mother-in-laws are dangerous FBP, I'd use something with more impact that you can use at longer range.

After avoiding that rat race for many years I've been forced to get back in to it over the last few months. I refuse to do the 4.30 am get-up to be at the airport for a 7 am flight thing anymore -getting too old for that. So I go the night before and take a hotel, then nice and fresh for the next day.. A few things have changed - facilities like online check-in do lessen the waiting around time at airports. But the domestic planes now are basically just cattle trucks. ( I wouldn't be surprised if they started using prods !). I now suggest to my peers at work using video conferencing or Net meetings where possible. It actually works quite well if you do the proper prep, even with customers. It's ridiculous in this day and age asking people taking 16 hours out of their life for a one hour meeting.
                                Cheers, Wayne
