That would be an expensive levy. Would be cheaper to let the country go boroke

Wasn't that flood levy because QLD Gvt., in its wisdom, hadn't taken out insurance on its infrastructure unlike the other states? Perhaps we should have a temporary wage levy on politicians to ensure they don't make daft decisions?

If you can afford beachfront houses in Sydney, you can afford a cleaner...

Their rates bills will sky rocket because of all the work that needs to be done. When the council were repairing major beach erosion on the Gold Coast over and over a while back the home owners on the dunes paid for it in the end. The excavators working on the beach for months on end wouldn't have been cheap. It seems everybody but them know it's not a good idea to live there.

it is everyone's fault not theirs. Someone needs to build the wall for us.
cannot believe the way they expect the government or council to foot the bill
look at the reports from Picton just up the road from me the businesses in the main street were all under water.
I did not see one report where they where blaming the government or local council.

Funnily enough building walls just increass erosion elsewhere. But they won't care as long as it keeps the price of their waterfront mansions high.

I'm about 200m back from the sea and about 10m higher. Now's a good time to start building a jetty.
