        Cheers Mick,

having a break ATM. Being flatout trying to get the 90 back on the road. Had to pull the twin tyre carrier off for a few repairs and a respray. Should be sorted tonight, maybe get in a drive over the weekend. Gonna be flatout again over the next few weeks doing a vertical rescue course with Emergency Services, it will be a bit of fun and some hard work at the same time. If it wasnt for silly bushwalkers we wouldnt need to have VR trained folks, we have had far too many rescues this year already. The last one was when we had to strecher a guy almost 20klms, tell you what that was hard work. NPWS wouldnt give us access to the Larapinta trail service roads,

        Zook.

Now, now, don't go doing that. NTPryce was targetting those writers who post a question and never provide any feedback so those providing potential solutions can find out if the problem gets solved.

There's a mountain of good info within this site and a ton of willing enthusiasts who are keen to share their knowledge and experience. Most of us are prepared to have a go with a spanner and get some satisfaction from appreciating just how the mighty Prado beast works and what to do to keep it going.

I think it is perfectly ok for PPers to just visit the site and trawl through all the various sections that interests them and if they choose not to actually say anything then that is their choice. But if you post a question/query or opinion then at least let the forum know what works and what doesn't. And a little thanks or cheers goes a long way, it may even save you an expensive and unecessary vist to Mr Toyota

Don't be such a sook.... for starters this thread is about what ticks us off and we are just stating what does. If your offended by that thats fine, say so and why, but there is no need to have a hissy fit over it and threaten to leave (which you are free to do by the way)

And if you have used the info in peoples threads to solve issues why not post and say "Thanks" to them, or "That's wrong and didn't work", "Great trip report, I went there because of it" etc etc... there are many ways to contribute, not just with info but with feedback. If members didn't contribute then this would be a pretty empty forum.

If you'd introduced yourself at some stage I think you would have found we would have made you very welcome.

A bit soft. Not sure how you don't feel welcomed. I don't recall any posts targeting you. Indeed, you've never made a post before to introduce yourself or in any way contribute to this forum. So your perceptions are self imposed. But, if you had bothered to try and post a query, or even PM a mod or another member, I'm sure you would've realised how much fun, information and good friends you could've made. Your loss.

Pity if you leave with a one and only post. But then again, if you can't find enjoyment from this forum (and there's heaps to enjoy - not just on the forum but also in meet-ups and with friendships too) then so be it - adios.

                    • Re: Things that tick you off!

Went for a drive from Perth to Busselton yesterday down the new highway south from Perth, and on the way wondered what idiots set the speed limits around WA.

We joined the Freeway at Stirling where the speed limit is 100kmph. On similar roads, with a lot more traffic, if I had been in the UK the traffic would have been driving at 90 mph. or if I had been in Germany there would have been no limit.

Approaching the city on the "Freeway" the speed limit was reduced to 80kmph. This on a freeway standard road with 4 or more lanes in places. Such a slowing is guarenteed to cause a bottleneck back up the road as traffic slows to comply.

Once through the city and on the Kwinana "freeway" it was agin 100kmph. Continuing south, with very light traffic we were stuck at 100, and then on to the new highway, still built to Freeway standards with all grade seperated intersections - still 100. Then the standard of the road changed to divided highway and the intersections were at grade. A lower standard of construction. Now the speed limit increased to 110 kmph. Lower standard road, higher speed???!!!

The road now continued on eventually becoming a standard two lane country highway, yet the speed stayed at 110kmph, except for some slower speeds around Bunbury.

So the rule in WA for highwyas seems to be, the better the road, the lower the speed limit. No wonder there was almost mass disobienence a few weeks ago when the new highway opened. The public is not completly stupid.

All I can think of is that it must be politicians who set the limits here.

I suppose I should add that I was a "good citizen" and obeyed the limits set while wondering.
