  • Calling the Prado a "truck", it's not a truck. Another Americanism creeping in.
    I agree with that 100%

    • A bloke on one of our sites kept talking about his 'truck' and we then found out it was a Suzuki Sierra. A 4wd is not a truck.

No worse than calling your fourby a "Rig".

          • Speaking of Trucks, I am supposed to be on holidays, so why was I pushing 48 tonnes up and down the road yesterday. Also on trucks, toggle shift gear changes tick me off, real trucks have a roadranger!

The Prado is not a truck, as previously stated, real trucks have a roadranger gearbox

            • I have always wondered why some people call 4WD's a truck. Is it supposed to make them sound like they are really "tough"? I call mine a Prado, because that's what it is.

exactly what I was thinking, Andrew.

those fancy auto gearboxes aren't all bad though.

Full Auto might be alright, but our Mercs run stupid manual shift boxes with a plastic toggle shifter, cant flat change, cant skip multiple gears, hopeless changing up gears going up hills cause the shift is sooooo slow, horrible things.

Having learnt to drive a truck in an old 6 wheel drive Blitz using a roadranger was bliss.

                    • Today, I was verbally abused and was "bird-flipped". Why? Because I was inconsiderate enough to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, and the poor diddums behind me lost a precious 5 seconds of his day. Gee, there are some tw@ts out there.

Maybe I a fuddy-dud. I actually stop at stop signs and red lights, give way at give way signs, and stop at pedestrian crossing.

                        • I copped it from a truck (and I do mean truck) driver on Wednesday because I slowed down from 80 to 70 going from an 80 zone to a 70 zone. It's not as though I slowed down quickly either.
