What's worse is being in that situation but knowing you have to drive when you get home so you can't drink the free booze

              • Settle in for a rant.

                What ticks me off?

The term, "You get what you paid for".

If we assume this term is correct then,

Two people go into a Dealership on the same day and buy identical Prado's, exactly the same.

One gets Fleet Discount and pays say $60,000, the other pays retail, say $66,000.

If they both "get what they paid for" then logically the fellow who paid retail must have a better car. In what way is one better than the other?

The term basically says there is no such thing as a bargain which is bullshit. Anybody who reads this Forum will realise there are actually lots of bargains around. I read that there are plenty of people who are waiting for 4X4 shows to get bargains from accessory manufacturers and distributors. If they get a bargain and they "get what they pay for" is it then rubbish?

It also says that nothing can be over priced, if I buy a piece of crap winch but it was as expensive as a Warn then if "I got what I paid for" it must be ok due to price paid alone.

Another example, ARB currently have a promo, buy 1 locker and get a compressor for free.
If I get it for free and I get what I pay for, surely I have nothing?

So what does it really mean?

Perhaps, " I hear you have had a bad run with your item that appears to be too cheap or be discounted by too much and I have nothing intelligent to add but I need to hear my own voice or see my own words on the internet so I'll say "you get what you pay for" that'll make me sound or look really smart".

There are things that are good quality, there are things that are crap, price alone, despite what this term suggests, is not always the definitive indicator of which is which.

                That feels better.

That would piss me off hence why I use the clear covers. Just have to make sure they don't move around as they create rub marks on the light casing resulting in rust. That pisses me off but just a little.

What pisses me off is CUSTOMER SERVICE or lack of. Business wants your money (and most of the time at top dollar) but provide a crap service by way of poor quality of workmanship, lack of communication or not doing what the customer asks for.

                        • People who seem to fall asleep at the lights, and when it goes green, need to wake up, put it in gear and then dawdle through the intersection, then the person behind them does the same and before you know it the light is red and you haven't even moved yet.

Even worse when you only get 3 cars through the light at the best of times.
