Was only just thinking this myself Richo, Having driven in Melbourne a lot lately I can only say that it happens in Vic as well. I remember the old slogan on the Victorian number plate - 'On the Move' yep, straight to Qld and that could explain our increase in these shenanigans .

Parents who think teaching their kids manners and discipline is just too bloody hard, then they come and stay at our house for 2 weeks over the holidays and get the shits when you pull their kids up for trashing the house & eating like farm animals.

Totally Agree jss. There are some of my family members kids and their parents who are no loner welcome in my house. They are little shits and needed a good kick up the arse a long time ago, the eldest speaks to her mother like a piece of dirt and I have pulled them up a few times the way they use to get into our cupboards, trashing our 4 year olds toy room, (which she even has respect for). They live three streets from me and havnt been here for a few years now and wont be. I told them when they teach their kids respect and how to say please and thankyou (the basic things), untill then dont knock on my door you and your kids are not welcome to trash our house. The wife and I certainly don't miss spending hours cleaning the mess up. Our 4 year old knows knows not to take drinks onto the carpet, she even told them they are not allowed and they just shrug their shoulders and walk in with it, while their parents just smiled and let them go untill I told them to drink it in the kitchen or Ill put it down the sink, get the big roll of the eyes and the sound effects, thats when we stopped offering drinks in the early piece now we dont need to worry......Cheers.........

Hahaha Steve i think we handle things the same way mate. After me telling the kids off & the parents groaning about it for a week I finally told them last night that enough is enough and they either control their mongrel, feral kids or i'll be dropping the lot of them back at the airport, and to visit other family members next Xmas because i'd rather burn my house to the ground than have them back again.
Don't you just love the happy holidays hahaha

LOL robbo, Im only 44 and yeah suppose not as tolerant as a 20 year old but I'm pretty easy going with our 4 year old, the wife is stricter then me, what probably pissed me off more was the fact the parents heard me ask them not to take drinks in there and the kids still did (4 of them) while they sat there and said ""kids are kids"", they soon moved when I raised my voice and told mum and dad they will be paying a couple of grand to replace my carpet if they stain it, I certainly don't miss the sound of the parents (cousins) voice's, johhny dont do that, mary get off that, stop pulling on that all from their seat instead of getting off their over size arses and grabbing their children and pulling them into line. I know I can walk into any body's house and tell my 4 year old don't touch anything, you can look dont touch and if want to touch, ask. She's not perfect but boy oh boy she leaves the other 4 ferals for dead in respect an manners........my rant lol.Cheers Steve

I hear ya Steve, your story sounds very similar to when my friend and his kids came to stay, apprently they have ADD or Adult Discipline Disorder as I came to call it by the end of the week. No offence to anyone with kids who suffer but in their case it just seemed like a great excuse not the do anything about their behaviour. I'm just glad he only had 2 any more and it would have really tested the friendship.

I have a 2, 20 months and 4. The 20 month old can still test any friendship but the four year old I like to think has great manner ( though plenty of consistent effort by me and the Wife).

I Know what you mean Steve. But you go into their houses and it's like a bloody show house, no shit or dirty marks anywhere but they go to your house and allowed run wild. We got into a hugh argument with the outlaws over that a few years ago but you have to lay down the law for them to bloody listen.

Hi Jim, have to catch up ?? Actually there house is a shit fight, crap every where, even from the front of the house it looks crappy. Really nice houses around them, bit like when people say you should buy the worst house in the best street, There are some homes around them that would have to be in the 700 + thou range. I know its not easy to keep a house spotless when there are 4 kids running around and they both work, BUT doesn't excuse not having manners and respect. Put it this way, my aunty use to come up every day to baby sit the youngest when she wasn't at school, she no longer does it as the kids are so naughty (got that info from my mum) so pretty sad when you own mother doesnt want to mind her grand kids due to the lack of control........Cheers Steve

One thing that pissed me off while were away, going through so called bloody road works, holding up all the traffic, not a person in sight, no machinery, couple of witches hats, what for I have no idea, no lanes blocked off you drop back to 40k to respect the safety of the work man for there to be absolutely no work going on what so ever, no form of work even about to happen, zippo, nothing then out of the blue it goes back to 100k or what ever the speed limit was..............Cheers Steve
