            • I know this one has probably been said a million times before (and I've told you at least a thousand times about exaggerating) but why is it that to keep my warranty (that I paid extra for) I have to pay hugely inflated servicing prices? Just been quoted $1,211.57 for the 160k service which is a four hour service according to Toyota - allowing roughly $200 for parts that's $250 an hour for labour.

As you are paying for extended warranty and they know you will be using them for servicing they should discount the price or alternatively, given how much they charge for servicing should make the warranty free.

Thats why I don't get Toyota to do most of the servicing. Toyota here charge $160 per hr.

Trekrider you do know that you don't HAVE to use Toyota to keep your warranty don't you?? In saying that admittedly using Toyo does remove the "blame game" aspect between Toyo and a different workshop if you do claim on warranty.

That's the first thing they look at when I went in for my cracked dashboard. "Let's have a look at your service history. Hmm, it hasn't come in before?" Long story short, it was past 7 years so no warranty claim anyway. But given the right service paperwork by an acredited workshop, Toyota would have to prove that non-Toyota servicing has caused the issue.

Actually, I do! But I can't just go to any Toyota dealer it has to be Toyotaways in Rockingham according to the fine print in the Warranty document.

According to the warranty document I have fixed price servicing at $298 - I've never paid that little for servicing! I'm going to have to pay them a visit for an explanation.

Wow, I've never heard that before. Is there a specific reason for this????

I think it's because the warranty is with the dealer - it even states that if you move away from the area your warranty is cancelled unless you bring it back to them for servicing!
