  • Going to be a scorcher I think this Summer.

I don't know about the southern climes but here in the Centre it has already started out to be a scorcher of a Summer. We have been in the mid to high 30's everyday for a fortnight now and I reckon we will be having our first 40 egree plus days in the next two weeks at the rate we are going.

The town got flattened last Wednesday by a really bad storm, we were without power for about 24 hours due to all the damaged power lines etc.

October and November are our bad storm months so it seems everything is starting earlier than usual this year.

We travelled from Flinders Ranges down through Hawker, Quorn, Pt Augusta, Pt Pire back to Adelaide on Saturday. 38-39 degrees all the way and a fierce north wind to boot.... all very early in the season.

27 for Adelaide tomorrow, then mid to low 20's for rest of week. Maybe some showers too.

MEL had 11mm of rain in September on an average of 60mm. At this rate the whole of MEL will be on stage 4 restrictions by November

We have had a grand total of 36mm this year, lucky we get our water from the great artesian basin.

We froze at night in the North Eastern WA wheatbelt over the long weekend. Was around 5 degrees overnight. About 25 degrees during the day. Seems the rain there is lingering late into the year keeping some of their crops green. They've had nothing to harvest for the last 5 years so this is a complete opposite for them. Weird.... but good! Recent rains (up to 30ml) also gave the wildflowers another drink which has made them very spectacular.

The weather has been all over the shop here in Sydney. Nice one day, cold another, stinking hot the next. It has been predicted by a long range forecaster, so I'm told, that Sydney will have 40+ days from October  Although we have had 99mm of rain in September with 58mm falling in the catchment (Warragamba Dam).
