Grabbed some CT18 today and gave it a try. Must say that it is very impressive stuff. I used the karcher to wet the vehicle down and this didn't move much of the dirt. Used the soap setting on the Karcher (which is very low pressure) and straight away could see the difference with the bugs and dirt almost jumping of the car.

Is the CT18 ok to use as a concentrate for stubborn stuff?

At this point it doesn't appear so. It still has the factory finish so I have not had the need to do anything else to it as yet.
This being the cars first bath, I was pretty careful to make sure I diluted the CT18 down and washed it pretty quickly in the shade.

I noted in your message yesterday that you use a small amount of Kerosene. Does this act as a film on the paint work?

The kero in a small amount just helps clean away the grime and washes off well leaving the car very clean and shinny. And kero you Miss that runs into the little gaps and cracks is slight oil based so helps prevent rust.

has anybody worked out how to clear the particularly devious never ending supply of gravel dust that seems to build up somewhere around the right hand side of the rear window. It always waits till i just wash it, and then dumps a big orange streak down the right hand side of the rear door. Or maybe it just happens to me...

A mate of mine had this bloke working for him doing odd jobs around his place washing the boats cleaning the cars oiling the marina berth you know the stuff. That was until he found out he was washing the cars with a product called sepetone gelcoat restorer(nasty stuff straight, we use to use it on our steel boats to get rid of rust). As you can guess they parted ways. Definately no good for the Prado.
Yep.....I have a Prado just like you
