I know this isnt directly Prado related but looking at photos taken on our trips on our LCD tv got me to thinking. How easy is it to add a sound track of some music to the DVD with photos on it? When the player first reads the disk I have to choose between MP3/WMA or jpeg, does that mean I will only be able to select one or the other or is it possible to have your cake and eat it too?

Re: OT - sound track on picture DVD
Hey Rainman,
Don't know if I am answering what you are asking ?
There are quite a few programs around to make slideshows with photos and music. Depends on what computer you are using will depend on the program. On a many PCs Roxio Easy Media Software can be used and is often pre-installed on many systems. I use a program called Proshow Producer by Photodex but this has heaps more functions.
The programs covert the images into multiple frames and the final product will be a DVD format and therefore play in a normal DVD player so you shouldn't need to select a format.
hope that helps ?"Ooops I just deleted the internet, lucky I was able to recover 99.7% of it out of the bin"

Re: OT - sound track on picture DVD
G'day Rainman,
Adding music to your own pics really brings them to life. Well worth the effort.

Otherwise, more detail about what you're trying to do will help.
What software package are you using to create your DVD?

About 3 months ago we bought a new computer but to be perfectly honest, I havent even looked at the burning software yet. I guess thats the place to start. Previously I was using Nero, but the new one has NTI CD and DVD Maker installed on it.

Re: OT - sound track on picture DVD
If you've got Vista on the new computer then it will have Movie Maker which is a basic DVD authoring program. It has the ability to add sound including fades and blends (I think). Also has a decent amount of amount of transisitions (how the pictures change to the next one). Not as good as Proshow Gold and others mentioned above, but ok to get started with, and it's 'free'
Nige.
