    The Might Todd River Flows

    Its been raining all day today and at around 4pm today the river really started to run. Theses pics were taken at aruound 4:30pm just after my little ones child care place was evacuated with possible flood warning.


    This is Taffy Pick crossing in the Gap area, everybody likes to come here to see the river flow over the bridge and then head through the Gap.



    There is still a possible that it will flood tonight, the water was rising all the time. Since im a NTES member, I could be busy tonight.

    The flooding of the Todd River is always an amazing sight. Thanks for the photos and helping to recall fond memories of the Alice.

      Great shot. Show it at his 21st!

      I've been lucky enough to be there twice when it was in flood. Always an event!

        Heard about this on the news! Didn't realize there was that much rain about. Time for those Todd river races now eh? Amazing sight! Didn't I hear that it last flowed like this around two years ago?

          I was in Darwin the year Cyclone Rachael turned Jabiru into one huge lake and flooded Katherine Gorge and engulfed the town. Woolworths was flooded to the ceiling and they had to just bulldoze out the contents once the flood subsided.... Now that was a lot of water to do that... :shock:
          Our Jabiru run driver had a bow wave out the front of his tojo ute all the way out there following the power lines to deliver the freight. How is that for dedication lmao
          He saw quite a few crocks swimming past the door on the way out there hahahaha... old blue on the back keeping watch too. Wish I got some photos but never thought of it. :roll: was too inawed about the whole thing.

            Todd River has again started to flow, weve had rain here for the past few days.

            Its still raining as I type this.

            Ill post some pics latter when I get the chance to go down there sometime today,
