Re: Fridge storage when not in use

Hey, I also have an Engel like yours Crammy. Mine is yellow with a brown lid. Probably even older than yours. It gets used four or five times a year. A mate of mine is a refridgeration mechanic and he always says that if you have an old spare fridge that you only plug in/use occaisionally eg Xmas it is more likely to breakdown for the simple fact that the compressor is not being lubricated and also any air/ moisture that may be present will condense and cause corrosion as the vapour and oil seperate out inside the refridgeration system. Things like the thermostat may also fail through inactivity. It is best to leave it turned on. The price of electricity may make you think twice though, and just wait till Kevin 747 whacks the carbon tax on it!

I recommend starting with a very big fire"-Vince.

OK you guys have convinced me, it needs to be the coffee table in the lounge with a spare 30 pack in it just in case
Now I just have to get that past the pregnant one.

Attach a sheet of glass to the lid ............ and you've got yourself a coffee table that will go with any modern decor

Leave the fridge in its bag .............. and you've even got a magazine rack courtesy of the side pockets.

It just doesn't get any better

        Cheers

Ahhhh ok Fishnut's. No wonder you don't have trouble with Bogans with that Waeco......   Ok nuff said... lets not go there.

Damn this flimsy plastic box... I mean fridge.......

One thing about Engels is that you do get a good workout hefting them into the back of the Prado. That's why real men buy em.... I think 20 minutes at full throttle would have it well on the way to chilled but I have to admit I've never timed it.... Heck, the lettuces wont mind if it's a few degrees off......

I'll forgive you for your choice of fridge, but only because I like the colour of your Prado (at least I think I will when, if, I get to see it  )

              Oh ye of little faith.........

I've had an extremely busy holiday Period so far all with the Prado parked in the garage!   So to make up for it I'm going to have to put in some serious hours to make amends. Might have to drop by Coastal 4x4 too to errr.... oh you know... just pick a few things up.

You guys are kidding right?? You're going to use you're fridges as coffee tables??? And put booze in them as well?? That has to be the most OZ thing I've ever heard!! Just add thongs and kick back watching the cricket to complete the picture.

Dear.... there's a strange hum coming from our new coffee table.... :?
