I lived in Queensland 77 - 81 and I remember it being quite warm but never that hot. Must be el Nina because it hasn't really been as hot as usual on this side of the great continent either.

Been a bit cool & windy here on the East coast the past couple of days. A high and low pressure system working together to thrust a cool stream of air directly up from the South.
