    Looks like the NT's Wet Season has left the Top End and is paying a final visit to Brisbane before it disappears until next season. On a positive note, at least all the extra rain is helping to fill all their reservoirs.

      Alice Springs shivers on coldest May day
      June 1st, 2009

      CENTRAL Australia has shivered through a wintery weekend with Alice Springs having the coldest May day ever recorded. The mercury at the Centralian town didn't get above 9.6C on Saturday, well below the previous record low of 10.5, set on May 21, 1980.

                Nope, no rain here not looking likely to either in the next few days. You should have a nice clear run down through the Centre albeit a bit cold in the mornings and after nightfall.

                  Noticed overnight temps of 2deg, :shock: could be cooler than that in a couple of weeks i guess. Love winter in the arid outback, freezing nights but beautiful clear days.

                    Spent last night at Willow Springs in the Flinders Ranges... talk about strong winds!!!

                    Today we did SkyTrek and the weather went from 23 degrees celcius to 9 degrees during the trip. We experienced blue skies, a hugh dust storm, rain and gale force winds all at difference stages of the trail. We got back to our campsite around 3pm and noted a break in the skies, but dark clouds again on the horizon. So we decided to leave early while we could pack up in dry weather rather than risk packing up in a storm or while wet or muddy.

                    When we got back to Wilmington (our base), we learned of almost cyclonic wind conditions being experienced here across South Australia, with much more bad weather on the way overnight. So lucky we left when we did.

                    At least I now know for sure that our camper trailer can hold up with the full awning set up in very strong winds. :shock:

                      Well it's pouring rain here at the moment in Darwin. So I guess that's the end of the Dry Season then... looks like it's going to be a looong build-up!

                                It was 41.5 here yesterday and 40.3 today, it is suppose to get even hotter by the weekend. :shock: No going out to play in this heat as it is unforgiving.
