    Re: OT - Weather

As we had the coldest morning for a few years, I just came across a photo I took during a heat wave last summer.

I was driving in the city at 8.40pm in January

I remember that...seems a long way away again.

          Re: OT - Weather

Since coming to Canberra, I don't think we've had an entire week where we haven't had some rain. The dams are around 90% full and almost all water restrictions have been lifted.

Even now it is currently raining a treat at the moment - not quite the torrential downfall I'm used to from Darwin, but pretty strong nonetheless. The whole time I've been here (since the end of June), I have only had to spot water a few parts of the garden. Otherwise the regular rainfall has been more than enough to make sure the garden is full of colour and vibrancy.

So what's going on? I am wondering it I brought some of the weather down with me????

NTP, You must have. I was there a couple of weeks ago and have never seen Canberra & surrounds so green.

            It looks great.

The drain down the middle of Brisbane Ave was raging.

              Re: OT - Weather

Since coming to Canberra its fair to say we've had a fair bit of rain... I reckon it followed me from the tropical North.

Notice the rise in water levels since the end of June - when I moved to Canberra. Coincidence or not :?: :?: :?:

So much for water restrictions... 100% full baby :!: :!: :!:

It's meant to be summer... but the weather has been windy, raining and under 20 degrees over the weekend... and everyone is wearing warm clothing... WTF?

Carnarvon got a wet thrashing the other day with 204.8mm - more than their average annual rainfall - in one day. And Saturday week ago they had 44 degrees.

No rain here, though. The dark clouds just blow away.

43 last Monday - car temp guage read 47. My mate out from Kintore said it was 52 at Kiwikurra.

Hell of a summer (???) Hail Storm experienced here yesterday. Lucky the car was parked in the garage at the time.

After measuring almost 500 Mls (20 inches) of rain in December, I have over 150 Mls in the rain guage for the first week of January...and Brisbane isn't the tropics is it!!

To think two years ago you would have been almost put in jail for turning a hose on to wash your dirty fourby!!
