Re: Awning - ARB or Open Sky????

I also have a Polaris Innovations awning, very happy with quality, ease of mounting (Tracklander rack) and very easy to erect and pack away, can be done with 1 person, but 2 makes it easy. They are almost identical to the ARB ones. We never got the sides etc either, we only need it for some shade away from the Pilbara sun.

Re: Awning - ARB or Open Sky????

Just purchased a new Oztent Foxwing awning. Went out to the Oztent retail (Amazon camping) outlet in Wetherill Park, Sydney last week and had a look at the demo model on the company Prado. Great piece of kit. They have fantastic product backup as well.

Went back today to buy one (5 in stock) and to my pleasant surprise they have 20% of all in store stock till sunday .... including all OZTENT products.
Bought a heap of other bits and pieces as well. Just thought fellow PP'ers might be interested..

Will post some pics when I attach it this weekend.

MODS: this thread should probably be in the accessories section. Didnt want to start new one though.

I have a friend in Perth who's wife makes them, any canvas colour you want, 12oz I believe and $298.00 + you fit it. Poles, lines, canvas the lot, just no brackets to mount, but gotta be a good price for that. Will try and get a pic of a finished product.

Some other information here. Includes my method of fixing to roof if you haven't got a roof basket....

After a 2 month trip to the Kimberley's, I am even more pleased with the 'Open Sky/ARB' (there's no difference apart from the colour)

I have a Rhino foxwing by oztent.... its a bit of a mouthfull,, but a bloody good awning, we gave it a test out the weekend for the first time, it fits a 120 perfectly and can be connected to an oztent obviously, we had a bit out wind overnight and plenty of rain, i only pegged it down on a few poles without any problems, im very happy with it!
