My parents have a satellite connection and it's a bugger. Bloody slow, even with the larger download capacity/higher speed selected and paid for. Bloody shits me... I hate using it :x :x :x :x :x

Ditto! When our daughter was on dial up, her service was faster - most of the time - than our "hi speed" satellite.

Anyway, I'm Baaaaaack! Where have I been :?: That wretched satellite non-connection :evil: :!: I'm looking into options. One the positive side, if there is one, the GFC has meant I've gone back to work part time at the Uni - so I have interenet there.

Bear - if you were with Go Bush, apparently they went bust last week owing their satellite provider around $2 M.
I changed from satellite to Wireless 3G last year and have never looked back. About a tenth of the latency and five times download speed for around the same price.
Not so good if you're not in a 3G coverage area of course

I'm not sure if I can safely say who we are with ... can't remember what abuse i've hurled :lol: But it isn't Go Bush. ... Won't be any satellite provider as soon as I can find a functional alternative :x :x :x . Unfortunately, the only wireless reception we have is Next G and that is a bit tentative - but that is the next step.
