SA has a bit of an odd money hungry personalised plate pricing policy. You can have 6-7 letter plates in various colours but not black with numerals at the end like PRADO 9 which cost a one up fee and you're good. If you want 120 D4D you have to pay every year. If you have a Euro car and want matching euro plates you have no choice of the numbers and letters and they have a yearly fee.

The trick with the custom plates is to find one that is saleable when you get sick of it (or paying for it) Not so easy, but still a lot easier than NSW or Vic. Doesn't sound like D4D 120 is highly sought after though

      • Yeah stupid system here in SA. What I wanted was 4WDNOZ "4 wheel drivin Oz" but that would have been $200 a year and I knew I would have grown to hate the plates due to the cost. So I got UCNOZ2 "You see'in Oz too" Which is $180 for life. The only real difference is the number is at the end rather than the start........... Go figure.

        Cheers Andrew
