    Went out to test my new lens yesterday and thought I would go hunting birds of prey. I finally tracked down a couple of Kites hunting in an area about 15 kms west of Alice Springs. I did have to walk through a Spinifex field to get a good distance to them but they are a striking bird:

          Great pics everyone, love the birds Mav - looks like your Cockys a bit corrupt though

          Here's a few from an assignment I shot on Friday. Not good enough for finals (not enough depth of field - even though they've only got about 0.3mm)
          Flash duration of ~1/9000th sec. Triggered using a laser & optical trigger wired to my Nikon SB900 flash.

          The crown is produced by the milk drop falling onto a thin film of milk, I'll also be shooting some drop spikes which only happen when there's a deep pool of liquid.

                              Great shots FBP... love high speed stuff.
                              I'm addicted to a show on Foxtel now called Time Warp. They shoot video of everything at rates of up to 20,000 frames / sec :shock:
                              They have shot the droplet stuff as well and it's truly amazing
