  • "What are the Victorians doing for Easter?"

Just won dering what all the Victorian PPers are doing for Easter. I was supposed to heading up to Talbotville near Dargo, but my mate has bailed on me and my lovely and I don't know what to do.

I'm thinking we might still head up there, just me and my girls.....

Re: "What are the Victorians doing for Easter?"

Funnily enough, I've just been spending tonight looking at trip reports etc deciding! (and still haven't)
Thinking little desert or Robe SA and was considering the Border track (Vic/SA) but it's probably a bit tough for the budget camper trailer and don't as yet have a winch. Anyone shed some light on this?
Will be traveling alone. I have a high lift, decent tyres and hope to have compressor before going to a sandy spot.
    Cheers - Phil Taylor

I haven't done the border track myself, but from all reports it sound like a must-do. From what I have heard it would be quite dificult with a camper trailer.

I don't think that you would have too many dramas with a camper trailer through there. It is fun and challenging but there are plenty of chicken tracks that you could take a CT through if need be.

Few of us heading up to Lake Eildon for a few days - hoping to spend some money in some of the bushfire affected areas.

Didn't see any Prado drivers but saw heaps of Victorians out east of Wiluna last week. As usual they are all over here to flog our gold. They come over for up to 3 months at a time, spend very little time or money in the local communities except for buying fuel and VB, then bugger off with their golden bounty.

Was that Lexton near Beufort Embi? Or is there another one?

Were you up there in the state forests, some nice spots there.

Yep thats the Lexton I was talking about.

We stayed at the reservoir. A friend of a friend owns the property that the reservoir is on so we have a massive area without any other people around.

I headed off to Mallacoota, almost on the VIC/NSW border! Was very nice there! Weather was great!
Highly recommend it for anyone who hasnt been there. There's beach/lake for fishing/diving, and four wheel driving and exploring. But dont do what I did and "not read the maps" as the ranger said.... and took my dogs into the national park. Not my fault there werent any signs....... :?
