I visited a dealer today,

dual zone climate and rear aircon is standard on the GXL

option pack 1 consists of front side airbags, curtain shield airbags, vehicle stability control and traction control.
No downhill assist

I am mainly interested in traction and possibly stability control (for offroad) so rather than buying a GXL with option pack 1, I may be better off without the option pack and put the money towards lockers

does anyone know if draws and cargo barrier can be fitted to a prado with side and curtain airbags?

Yes it has downhill assist, not that you'd use it anyway
Yes you can fit drawers and an airbag compatible cargo barrier
