A GROUP of children swimming in a pool have had a lucky escape after a Toyota Prado driven by a Spanish tourist joined them in the pool for a dip.
Duty Superintendent Bob Harrison said the two Spanish tourists got in the 4WD at the Kings Canyon Resort, when the driver mixed up the accelerator and the brake.
"The car went through the carpark, a wooden playground, a pool fence, some barbeques before ending up in the pool," he said.
"It’s now at the bottom of the pool. There were three kids in the pool at the time, but they were uninjured."
Spt Harrison said the tourists spoke very little English, and police would attempt to speak to them again this morning.

I remember several years ago driving home from Karratha to Tom price along the Nanutarra /Munjina Rd (nee Nantutarra/Wittenoom Rd)
when I had to drive through riotinto gorge (single lane winding rd & few areas to get off the rd) and came across a roadtrain with
two trailers going the other way, so doing the right thing by the truckie I got off the road to let him pass.
Coming behind me was a couple of grey nomads hidden by my dust which I hadn't seen, they came up against the roadtrain and
stopped in front of it expecting the truckie to reverse all the way back out the gorge and I knew that it was just not going to happen,
so there was a bit of standoff between the truckie and grey nomads.
This lasted about 10-15mins before the grey nomads go it into their heads that the only direction the Rdtrain was going in was
forward and they eventually started backing out of the gorge which is no mean feat towing a van and not being able to see too far
behind them.
cheers,
chappyFitted so far:-Toyota Alloy bar,Redarc BDCD1220 battery managment system and dual power outlet, tracklander full length rack and ladder,Milford cargo barrier,Kaon transmission guard, UVP& Lower Shock mount Guards,Dobinson/Bilstein suspension,Toyota Bonnet and headlight guards,39ltr engel and an opposite lock stubby holder (from the old '80' series),Polyair Airbags,Pradopoint sticker,Gonefishin' custom Sidesteps.

G'day Palmer
Because it's a tiny narrow gorge majority of drivers slow right down so that was the saving grace as I and the truckie was taking it easy through there
which I can't say for the other dickheads who think they're immortal and indestructable and just floor it going through the gorge.Fitted so far:-Toyota Alloy bar,Redarc BDCD1220 battery managment system and dual power outlet, tracklander full length rack and ladder,Milford cargo barrier,Kaon transmission guard, UVP& Lower Shock mount Guards,Dobinson/Bilstein suspension,Toyota Bonnet and headlight guards,39ltr engel and an opposite lock stubby holder (from the old '80' series),Polyair Airbags,Pradopoint sticker,Gonefishin' custom Sidesteps.

Beached as, bro
Another fine example of beach parking in the Northern Territory. Worse still, it was his mate's car. Even better for this forum - it was a Nissan Patrol.[B][SIZE=4]ntp
