I love the Territory news, so funny. I used to visit Darwin once in a while when my 2 cousins lived up there for a few years. We saw some of the local sites as you do... People lining up in shopping centre ATM queues... Not to use the machine, but to withdraw 20 bucks from the person infront of them when they turned around after collecting their withdrawal. Front row seats to all-in brawls on Mitchell Street at 2am on a Saturday morning after a night on the piss.... Tonight's main event - Army blokes vs The Indigenous Allstars.
We went on the Jumping Crocodile Cruise in the Adelaide River, the day after we fished from the other side of the river with lures right next to a new model Falcon that was completely burnt out. We were safe enough back from the water's edge because we saw a few crocs while we fished there and weren't stupid enough to want to die in their mouths. We saw their slide marks everywhere which was pretty cool. But we fished it in October. The bloke running the cruise boat the next day called us "temporary Australians" after he found out it was us fishing there... But we appeared closer to the bank to him then we actually were. He then had a laugh at us for "Barra fishing" in October. He had a good old laugh over that one hahaha... So did we haha. Anyway, they lure the crocs one by one for an hour to lunge out of the water with cubes of raw beef tied to a bamboo pole with package string. The crocs will fair dinkum get half of the their body clear of the water up to the hind legs in the process too. I highly recommend it as it's a blast. They finish up by hand feeing swooping Kite birds. The following year I was up in Port Douglas with my wife. On this particular day we were travelling to the Daintree. Before we left I asked the cute reception woman at our resort, "Which of the crocodile tours in the Daintree River feed the crocs from the side of the boat? Because it wasn't clear in the brochures who did and who didn't?" Hahaha, well the joke was on me again. She gave me the most filthiest, painfully obvious glaring puzzled look with these eyes of night terror. It then spoke.... She said, "They don't feed them because that's dangerous."
I commented, "But they feed them in the Adelaide River in the NT. It's a popular attraction and they do it everyday of the year rain, hail or shine, except for Xmas day." She then continued and her collegue immediately joined in. They said, "Well we don't do it here because it's stupid and reckless and what some people do in the NT is just nuts. It's too dangerous to interact with them like that. Plus people live on the river in the Daintree. All we do here is watch from afar and leave them be." I completely understood and dropped the subject, thanked them and left.
How do you know unless you ask..... Even if it does mean you'll get your head bit off.2005 120 series V6 Grande, 2 inch susp lift (King/EFS combo), 32 inch MT’s, Safari Snorkel, rear diff lock, breathers, Light Force spotlights, UHF, dual batteries.

Katherine Town Council has had to cut back on costs. They have a new method of rubbish removal by getting rid of those expensive trucks!
