Not sure this is correct (Lowndes/Whincup???)- but Holden certainly won the day.

yep - Lowndes/Whincup came 5th, but they are Holden drivers just propping up a Ford until next year...

Why don't we talk about the Holdens and their blocking - GT being shown a Bad Sportsmanship* flag for blocking and Bargwana DESPERATELY NEEDING a Bad Sportsmanship* flag for also blocking. Might have given Lowndes a shot then.

*Should it have been referred to as a Bad SportsPERSON flag given Mrs Tander (ironically driving a FORD during the race) competed.

I don't barrack for either Ford or Holden. I followed Marcos Ambrose - and still losely do now he's NASCAR - but now I'm following Whincup and Lowndes no matter if they decide to drive a Magna next year.

                  (*FLAME PROOF SUIT ON*)

At the end of the race and if they are racing for position they can block all they like, if it was bad sportsmanship i think the stewards would have been all over it. The holden boys could't help it if the falcons would self destruct. hahahaha.

Actually, lap 145-148 (of 161)aren't considered the end of the race for Bargwana, I don't know why the stewards didn't act - and they certainly didn't when Craig pushed him out of the way - but I'd suggest they had their Red shirts on by that time.

Garth Tander - a serial blocker from way back - WAS shown the Bad Sportmanship flag but, as Neil Crompton correctly stated, the moment had passed by the time the officials digitally liberated themselves.

And funny what you're saying about Fords falling apart. I have a funny feeling that last year there was a similar comment about the holdens.

i think their is a certain number of laps that it is allowed, i not sure of the number, it is like after two thirds of the race or something similar.

Yes they did fall apart last year, but that was last year, you are only as good as your last win, we have two on the trot, we will take that.

the championship battle is close now, either way the number 1 will be on a holden next year!!!

always a god battle the fords vs holdens, love the rivalry

The figure you are looking for is 5.

even if we take 148 from 161, you're still talking more than 5.

A slightly different view of the track for those interested.

I work Aerial Survey for the NSW Lands dept and Bathurst Council asked us to do an aerial survey over the track on the race weekend, so I took my camera up with me and snapped off a few pics. These were taken on the Saturday, at about 10am. Was asked to do the same again on Sunday for the race-start but unfortunately we couldn't get clearance into the airspace above the Mount (and the weather was crap as you would have seen on the telly!).
