I'm going some time on Saturday - won a bunch of free passes off the radio!

          Hooray to me!

I told the Wife that with the money I have saved on entry I should be able to spend more inside the gates!

                Re: Perth - 4WD & Camping Show

I've been along to a number of these shows now for research of purchase. There is always a certain amount of expectation that you are going to get a really good deal on your buys. Lets say you where after a fridge and you know they are going to have a good deal on at the time. You rock up to the show with your wife and one or more kids. Straight up you've spent about $40.00 to get in and the kids annoy the crap out of you until you buy them an icecream/drink/hotdog/etc.. Another $50.00 gone and still no fridge. Your wife then sees these flash heat pack gizmos that once used go rock hard and need to be boiled to allow them to be reused. $70 dollars later you finally get to look at the fridge you are after and go ahead with the buy. It cost you an arm and a leg just to get thsi far. Better be a good saving.

Yeah I realise that there is more to these shows then just saving some cash on your purchases. Nothing is better then having everything (hopefully) in once place where you can have a good look and compare but arghhhhhh.

Not going , I think it is rediculous having to pay entry . If the vendors wants the business they should allow frew entry . I allways go to the Hillary's boat show as it is free entry and I do allways come out with some type of purchase .

                    Re: Perth - 4WD & Camping Show

Went for a bit of a wander on Friday arvo.
Not too many "real" show specials on offer. Good to compare stuff whilst all in the same spot.
Mind you TJM was offering a free snorkel with every bull bar sold!!! Not bad if your keen!!
Purchased a travel cover for the engel, $100 from engel world. Others still wanted $190 at the show.
Agree that $15 is too much for entry, would be happy with a fiver or even a donation to charity!!!
Seems the vendors dont try and see what the others are selling gear for either, no competion with each other.
Maxtrax were seen to be "on special" from $270 thru to $325.
Funny that some of the sales guys were "over it" and "bring on 6 oclock!!" when it was only the first day and theyve still got the
big crowds to come on sat and sun.
Good for a look but dont set your expectations too high.
2007 GLX Petrol, Soverign Bar, IPF Spotties, 40 ltr Engel,Twin Rear DVD, GME 3100, Red Arc Dual Battery System,
Wishin for - lift , snorkel, dockers premiership!!

Yeah. You need to be very careful about the "on sale" and "show special" tags. It's often taken for granted that because it's a special show and you're inside a makeshift tent or stall that prices will be cut down a bit. In my experience it's rarely the case. Agree too that entry should be free. Vendors should foot the cost of putting on the show, as they are there simply to make money. Why should I help fund an exhibition so someone else can make money??

Went to a mates house on Friday night , he asked me if I was going I told him I wasnt do not like the idea of paying entry , the mrs said I could take the kids to a school fete instead so I opted the 4wd show . So went on Sunday and to tell the truth was not realy impressed none of the specials made me stop and look again . Yes I also laughed of the different prices the vendors had on the Maxtrax but I did see them down to $260.00 .

                          Re: Perth - 4WD & Camping Show

Went on Saturday to have a look. I reckon the walk through the car park is just as good as inside the show - the fit outs some vehicles have, awesome to say the least.

Had 5 tickets that I had won through the radio competition so gave 3 away to a lucky group of folk walking through the gate - my good deed of the day.

Didn't buy anything, other than a $3 Frostie Fruit  (I can buy a box of them for that price!)

Was annoyed the new Prado wasn't there - the girl said Toyota would not give them one as it was to be released on Monday - geez, two days..., what a joke. All they had instead was a 120 series Prado with a black sheet over it and pictures of the new one stuck to the outside...

Anyway, wasn't many new products compared to last year..., so overall it was good to show the Wife a few things I want, but other than that, wasn't fantastic...
