Went to see some local music the other night and who was there wanting to play some pool and watching the bands -- Eddy Vedder . OK maybe a bit of name dropping but its not to often you get to have a drink with a legend such as him . I didnt go to the concert on the following night but he mentioned how good the bands were at the local pub he went to the night before surely the 3 bands he mentioned would be on a bit of a high after that

I like songs not only for what they sound like but if I associate them with a particular moment or period in my life. if you listened to Triple J's Hottest 100 of All Time a couple of months back, you wouldve heard all my favourites. My ears were in heaven throughout the whole countdown. Particular favs include Underworld/Yves Deruyter- Born Slippy and The Verve- Bitter Sweet Symphony. Also a fan of The Chemical Bros- Hey Boy Hey Girl and Private Psychedelic Reel. Although judging by the other responses so far i dont think there'll be many others on here that share my musical tastes :wink:

Now WBY, dont be like that I am known for having a couple of albums from both Underworld and Chemical Brothers.. I enjoy trance - big fan of Tiesto as well.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's so a lot of my favourite music is from that era. I can quite often relate a certain song to a particular time in my life.
A few of my favourites would have to be Meatloaf, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Hothouse Flowers, Rolling Stones, ACDC, Richard Clapton and many more. Not into this new age techno stuff or the plethora of singing budgies like Britney Spears (gag gag) or black american hip hop/rap.
Always have a few MP3's loaded up in the car with my favourite songs.

I grew up in the 60's, 70's & 80's.

Maybe I was a little hasty earlier:

1. Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb
2. The Cure - A Forest
3. Neil Young - Ordinary People (first performed 1988, took until 2007 to release on album)
4. a range of 60's, 70's, 80's music

Music then stopped

Way to hard to pick a fav, but Christie Road by Green Day, from the Kerplunk album, has been on high rotation lately.
Going to see them live soon, hope they play heaps of there old stuff.

CD's in my car at the moment (yes CD's not MP3's): Weezer, Alice In Chains, Green Day, Nirvana, Biohazard

My CD collection has every thing from Pantera, Slayer, Metalica, through to Paul Kelly, Ben Harper, Lior.

I prefer to listen to Artists not performers, & Triple J is the only radio station worth listening to.

I have to say Joan Osborne's version of "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" has become my favorite song over the past year. Tight at the end and played very loud, give me goose bumps. You Tube doesn't do it justice unfortunately

She's been around for a while, gone from grunge to little bit country and then Mowtown, very underated singer.

My previous favourite song was one of hers from 1994, "One of Us" written by Eric Brazilian of the Hooters - not to everyone's taste, but then they're not really listening to the base line and up loud.

Apparently Walking On A Dream by EMPIRE OF THE SON is voted best song best album after last nights ARIAS . Very happy with that Luke Steele has wroked hard for along time . And again Perth musicians dominates the rest of Australia
