  • Anyone Recognise This?

I don't know if this is going to work - but here goes anyway?

I've got the bullbars pictured below. They are mostly stainless with the spots mounted on tubing under the plastic. Top rail is plastic with a chrome strip in the top for decoration. It looks factory - but there are no manufacturer or part numbers except for a sticker attached to the electric wiring showing "SH-PRD190" and a load of small type numbers below. I was thinking if putting it on my 98 Prado 90 TX. But the fixings don't match.

So I was wondering if anybody recognised the bars (ie who made them) so I can see if they do any mounting brackets that will allow them to fit on my Prado.

    Many thanks....

Looks like one of those Japanese domestic market jobbies, I've seen a lot of similar ones on grey import Toyota Surfs.

Example of grey import Surf one:

Hi there, i,ve just taken the exact thing except for the top loop off my Prado to fit a factory alloy roo bar, my son and i then fitted it up to his 98 grande as he wanted somewhere to mount spots, the brackets had to come off my car to be able to fit it to his and they are a different version of the towing hooks to the aus spec brackets but yes it is a jap version of a Prado nudge bar, I can,t take any pics of how its fitted to his car as he has gone back to Kalgoorlie 700km away, but i can ask him to take a pic for you and then post it up. Regards Chris

That certainly looks like it. As you say the top loop is additional - but the rest looks the same.

There's no hurry on this - but if you could provide a couple of pictures to show what the bottom mountings look like I'd be enormously grateful.

This could save me a considerable amount of "buggeringabout".

Thanks in advance - and I will keep the forum up date with progress.......
