    Australia Day

    So what did you do this Australia Day?



    Did you get to do something with the family, or did you do something just fair dinkum Aussie?

    I took the family to Litchfield National Park and spent most of our time swimming at Buley Rockholes. Sorry... no pics this time. Our three kids just love it there. With only a 50m walk from the public carpark, flowing waters, small waterfalls and some deep pools to explore with almost crystal clear water - absolutely refreshing in the middle of the wet season tropics. Home in the afternoon for a BBQ, lamb of course. :wink:

      Wife was invited by the Aust Government to be a guest at an Australia Day function over at the Crown Plaza, so I stayed at home with the kids whilst she enjoyed herself.

      Dropped her off at the Plaza then went the the Maccas drive through on the way home, got the daughter a chocolate sundae and put a video on for her in her room whilst Hunter enjoyed NickJr in the lounge and I caught up on some ironing.

      That was my spectacular Australia Day.

        Travelled home from Canberra, After a great weekend with Goanna and family. Drove up to Mt Corree and back via Picadilly circle.

          Today I was in the Garden for a while, and watching the Cricked & Tennis "surfing with the remote"
          Getting over standing on North Wollongong Beach in a Black Suit on Saturday @ 43deg and I would bet 45deg at least on the sand and more under the suit.
          Giving my daughter away at her wedding.

            Home from Beachport the slow way.

            Beachport to Robe via the bitumen, then onto the sand and drove the next 100 or so kilometers on the beach, ducked inland every now and then to avoid towns, marinas etc, crossed back onto the main road at 28 mile crossing south of Salt Creek.

            Saw a whale skull, dead eagle ray, couple of seals etc.

            Sand was like concrete in some spots, no trouble going along at 80km/hr, in other spots it was hard work.

            Top day.

                I did the same blokey kinda stuff that Mav did. At least I had the cricket and Top Gear to keep me partially sane during it all.
                If anybody watch Top Gear, a Prado wouold have destoryed the economy challenge that they had :wink: :roll:

                      came home down the bruce highway from Noosa before after a few days camping but before the traffic got too bad.. then did a whole lot of cleaning up the car and washing the camping clothes, then a BBQ at a mates place.. bloody good weekend actually!

                        We went for a picnic at Preston Beach, we were checking out a nearby camping ground - doesn't seem to be camper trailer friendly
                        On the trip down we saw ALOT of Prado's, how many had pradopoint stickers? None. We had some good laughs though, we've synchronized how we twist to look out the back windows, it was very funny, you had to be there. I wonder how sore our necks will be tomorrow?
