Toyota has suspended sales in the US of eight largely new models while it examines problems with sticking accelerator pedals.

i think they have a bigger problem than they are letting on.
but i think, but not sure that the rulles in the US are different to that of aust.
manufacturers have to buy back fault riddles vehicles (certain numbers of faults) if owner requests it.
either way, the fly by wire system in the affected US vehicles, you would have to think it is very similar to that of similar models world wide,
but toyota say they different (mmm, maybe different colour).
