I would be asking for my money back since they have done a substandard job. I know fitting is pretty cheap but it is worth a bit. Obviously this is a saftey issue since if that thing fell off your vehicle doing any sort of reasonable speed then it could have been a mess. Mind you I think most people would/should know somryhing is wrong BEFORE it falls off.

Absolute joke. I too found that one side of my bar had not been tightened at all. If I hadn't noticed the excessive movement, I dread to imagine what could have happened.

It's unfortunate but you need to inspect every job before handing over cash these days.

I had some rear lower control arms fitted to the Mav a few years ago by a 'reputable' 4x4 store. They arms had greasable ball joints instead of bushes (bad idea in the end) so I had the store fit grease nipples to the ends for ease of maintenance. The weekend after I had the arms fitted I tried to grease the ball joints. I was surprised when the head of one of the grease nipples just fell off. Turns out the 'fitter' had over tightened the grease nipple when fitting and had busted the nipple bit from the thread. Rather than owning up to his mistake the fitted decided that he'd silicone the nipple back on and nobody would know. I had an interesting discussion with owner of the store and I have never been back.

I would hazard a guess that those are the washer that are supplied with the bar, we had alloy bar fitted to our rodeo by the the same 3 letter company (not ARB) and it too arrived with the same washers and of course the wobbles. This bar also developed cracks in the welds inside the bar on the mounting brackets of course according to the manufacture and agent this where nothing to worry about. We sold the car and bought a prado so no nothing for us to worry about, will never buy or suggest to anyone to purchase any of this companies equipment again.
Oh we had ours supplied and fitted in ACT so not the same installer as pradogxl's

            Hey Matty,

Did you not have this same type of problem on your last ute as well! Did they not use the standardised unit of torque called "FT"...... rattle till it stops, and it's all good. I seem to remember talking about that with you. And if so was it not that 'major' 3 letter brand too.

I think its just plain and simply crap. I know when my bar was fitted there were different grade bolts put in it. As when I went to check it all I had to use different sockets for 2 of the bolts. When this particular 3 letter 'global' organisation was asked to explain they tried to do a lot of back peddling by saying they have to 'different size bolts', but when confronted with the grade markings (and lack there of) for the same dia. bolts they had nothing to say but ' we have no idea how that could happen'.
