Hail Damage

Anyone else involved in Perth hail storm. My new VX took a beating, At least 300 holes in roof, multiple to all panels on right side and bonnet. Smashed windscreen and some damage to all other panels on left and back door. No internal water leakage. I have taken it to Toyota smash repairer in Perth, they reckon it will get all new panels including new skin to roof, it will probably cost around 20K. I am insured with Toyota insurance. Has any one had experience with these insurers or this situation in the past?

A colleague of mine only just bought a new Mazda 6 sedan for his wife and he tells me today that the hail has virtually destroyed the car. He says the damage won't be covered by insurance as it is deemed to be 'an act of God'.

I hope for his and others sake that this isn't true... otherwise there are going to be a lot of very unhappy people in WA tonight.

That is complete rubbish as long as you have a full comprehensive policy it is totally covered, numerous other forums re Sydney and Melbourne hail storms. The question is more repair or replace, general rule is you need 50 - 60% repair bill versus total cost of car as too whether it is written off or not. For me it is unlikely that the damage will be 40K, so they will probably repair it, obviously I would prefer replacement. But "Such is life". :x

My 150 was sitting in BIGROCK Toyota having its final pre delivery checks prior to hand over next week. wont be happening,
Ive put a comment on the delivery time page do I now see this a act of god promoting me to keep my 120 with 20k on the clock

i had a 2003 gxl and i rolled it 3 times last year coming back from mt buller in melbourne so i had to make a claim
i was with toyota insurence the car was a ride off and it took 1 month to get the money every time i rang up to ask them something they told me its up to head office in japan which gave me the shits and they could not tell me much every time i asked but they still paid me for the car
